Elachi It is rich in dietary fiber and Iron

Recommended Age: Advisable for all ages above eight months

How to Prepare:

Wash your hands before preparing food. make sure all utensils are thoroughly clean, just before preparing the food

Mix 2 tablespoon of sathu maavu powder with 1 cup of water without lumps.

Cook the mixture in medium flame for 10 minutes or till it thickens. Fruit Purees can be added to the porridge to make it sweet.

Stir the porridge well and serve

      Hello Megha,

      Yes it can be cooked in Milk too. But if your child is below 1 year old then cook the mix in water and before feeding add breast milk or formula milk in it. And if your child is above 1 year it can be made in milk and to enhance the taste in both milk and water add dry fruits powder and ghee into it.

    Hi Hema,

    I gave this to my baby who is 10months old with banana and he threw up the whole meal within 10mins after he finished the whole food, He was earlier introduced to rice, dal (moong, toor, urad dal) and wheat through bread. I live in USA and infact this is the first time he threw up like that. Now I am skeptical to offer this product again to him.

      I can understand, for now you can stop feeding your baby. After some days try feeding a small quantity of mix without adding banana.

      If he is able to sustain it and then you can slowly try increasing his feed.

    hi,I recently bought this but my 2yr old son didnt like its taste.I prepared it with apple puree but it tastes so bad that I was not able to take it,then I made it with jaggery,milk & fortified vanilla flavoured formula,he had finished one bowl then.though I used only 1tsf powder.is it ok to prepare it like this otherwise my baby will not accept it..

      Please start with basic food like rice, wheat etc and then start with sathumaavu, as it has many ingredients , it is always better to start with basic ones first

    Saathumavu health mix ( weight gaining health mix ) looks like working well. My baby who dint gain much weight from past 2 months started to gain good weight. I would like to continue using the same.

    I am giving it directly with out mixing to any other food. She started to like it slowly. I will further check her growth pattern by using your products and will write back the feedback again.

    Also, please suggest any other weight gaining products as she is very thin and doesn’t like to eat more in quantity.
